Responsive reading

In the form of readio, the first start-up at StoryDOCKS is now on board as well: the newly-founded company’s name is an amalgam of “read” und “audio”. The technology reported for the patent combines text with images, sound, animations and videos. This makes it possible not only to recycle existing content, but also to develop completely new book and content concepts.

The overall readio user experience is designed to make mobile reading more attractive and to extend it to more reading opportunities. “Responsive reading” is made possible with readio: in this way, content with a high proportion of text can be consumed simply and conveniently on mobile terminals. In the process, all of the data – images, noises, videos and animations – are integrated in such a way that the reading flow adapts itself optimally to the characteristics of the mobile terminal and the reader, thereby creating the responsive reading experience.
